The Summit for girls takes place every October. It allows young girls to see and interact with minority female professionals in the fields of STEAM and entrepreneurship. At the Summit, the girls are involved in STEAM workshops offering hands-on activities and experiments to see what STEAM professionals do in real life. In working with the schools, TIBIT can help support and expose the girls to learning opportunities outside the classroom.
The Girls Summit provides a program that engages and cultivates interest in STEAM (science, technology, engineering, art, math/medicine) fields and entrepreneurship in young minority females ranging from 8-12 years of age.
Summit Goals:
* Increase awareness and familiarity in STEAM and entrepreneurship.
* Provide experience and validate the importance and relevance of STEAM content areas in their lives.
* Help young girls experience and envision the possibilities and opportunities for themselves and their future.
It takes a village to conduct the Girls Summit. If you are interested in volunteering or being a community partner sign up here.
